• Dear WordPress. I have finaly figured out how to use this great peace of software. BUT

    I tryed to import my entire blog from RSS (made in Rapid weaver) but my pictures did not follow!?

    both my pictures, my old blog and the new WP blog is on the same server.

    can you help me?

  • you have to upload the photos.. did you actually do that? they arent magically inserted into your web space.

    all the RSS imprt does is add content to your (posts) database

    hmm… ok so they have to be manually “put” into the posts again? or can i just put them in “the right directory”. in case of the later – which directory would that be ? thanks alot for your replay W!

    you put them in wherever they need to go to match where they are in your content .. chances are thats going to be the same as how it was was before you moved everything. 🙂

    hmm… ok … can really figure that out.. but actually linking to the pictures within the text also look better – even though it is a little work

    im not suggesting that you link to the piuctures

    look at the following:

    here is a picture of me: <img src="images/whoo.gif /">

    thats what the RSS import takes care of.

    Just that, the textual content.

    That (the RSS import) is not going to take care of making sure that the path to that image is correct.

    In other words, you need to make sure that /images/whoo.gif actually exists.
