rss feeds behind an ssl

My wp install is in ssl directory.

Do rss feeds work behind ssl(encryption]? When I click on the on the rss link on my index.php using the default theme I get a message “Firefox doesn’t know how to open this address, because the protocol (feed) isn’t associated with any program.” Why is that and how do I correct this?
