RSS feed to custom post

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of either a plugin or code to help me out here.

I’m trying to embed a list of posts aggregated from an RSS feed and display them in a page template. The posts don’t need to be visible on the website i am developing, just the title, link and publish date.

I will also be allowing the ability to manually add posts to the same section.

For that reason I am trying to work out the best way of importing an RSS feed and each item in the feed becomes a custom post. Each manual post can be of the same custom post type too. Then I can make a call for the custom post and display them in the template.
