 * I know there are a number of issues already raised (and some resolved) to do
   with RSS feeds, but I’ve searched for others with the same problem as me with
   no luck.
 * I originally realised there was a problem with my RSS feed after FeedBurner failed
   to update following a recent post.
 * If I view the raw feed ([http://wv4.co.uk/feed/](http://wv4.co.uk/feed/)) in
   Firefox I can see the most recent post on their – everything looks fine.
 * However, the raw feed in Internet Explorer has not updated – the same happens
   if I run it through FeedValidator.org, and FeedBurner.
 * The original problem occured with WP 2.0, I’ve just upgraded to 2.0.3 with no
   difference. I’ve also tried deactivating the various plugins I use, but nothing
   has solved it.
 * It seems strange that one browser sees the updated feed, but another browser
   doesn’t, when they’re looking at the same page. Anyone got any clues?
 * Cheers,
 * Rob.

 * Bring up the feed in IE and hit CTRL-F5. Then what happens?

 * Don’t worry – that’s one of the first things I tried. It’s not a cache problem,
   it’s something to do witht he way IE (and the FeedValidator & FeedBurner) are
   reading the feed, which must be different to Firefox.
 * Very strange though, unless I’m missing something obvious. It would be nice for
   someone who has neve viewed the site before to confirm that there is a problem
   and it’s not just me going mad.

 * I’ll worry – it sure smells like an IE cache issue.
 * I viewed in IE, Opera 9 and FF1.5. Saw the same articles in all 3.
 * Keep in mind that there’s not a “RSS” or xml file laying around waiting to be
   requested. It is rendered on the fly each time a browser requests it (thus the
   concern about local/browser caching).

 * OK – so can I ask which was the latest article you saw? Seems like it is not
   just IE that has the problem, because FeedBurner and FeedValidator see the out
   of date feeds too.
 * Thanks for your help,

 * “Friendly Database Errors In WordPress” appears to be the newest. Which is also
   what I saw when I went to your site ([http://wv4.co.uk/](http://wv4.co.uk/)).
   Sound about right?

 * Crikey, the plot thickens – looks like it’s not just the RSS feed that’s the
   problem then. When viewing the site in Firefox 1.5.0.4 the latest post (10th
   July) is showing – in IE and Opera the previous post shows.
 * Does this provide any more clues?

 * It tells me we’re not looking at the same urls, at a guess!
 * What url are you using to see that current post?

 * Right, I’ve got it – for some reason, the new post has been marked as “private”,
   and must have only been showing in Firefox as I was logged in there.
 * I feel stupid now – thanks for all of your help.
 * Rob.
