 * Hi!
    I’m having 2 issues with my podcast:
 * 1. – PP doesn’t seem to be supplying iTunes with my feed. I say this because
   the feed listed in PP settings doesn’t even validate, and the category for my
   feed is not the same in PP settings? How can I determine what feed iTunes is
   using?
 * 2. – How can I change the PP feed to pull from this page: [http://drhoffman.com/podcast-2/](http://drhoffman.com/podcast-2/))?
   Currently the feed in PP is set to: [http://drhoffman.com/feed/podcast/](http://drhoffman.com/feed/podcast/)
 * 3. – The original issue I was trying to edit was the artwork and category in
   iTunes. I have everything set in PP settings however as I state in #1 above,
   iTunes doesn’t seem to be connected with PP.
 * iTunes – [https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/introducing-intelligent-medicine/id663864861?mt=2](https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/introducing-intelligent-medicine/id663864861?mt=2)
 * HELP PLEASE!
 * Thanks,
    Michael

 * Looks like your iTunes listing is currently pulling from this feed: [http://www.drhoffman.com/podcasts/channel-1/podcast.xml](http://www.drhoffman.com/podcasts/channel-1/podcast.xml)

   PowerPress feeds generally don’t end in .xml so it’s very unlikely that a PowerPress
   feed is what’s being sent to your iTunes listing.
 * PowerPress creates one default podcast feed on every site and that feed can’t
   be changed. In your case, that feed is: [http://drhoffman.com/feed/podcast/](http://drhoffman.com/feed/podcast/)

   The default feed will contain all podcasts you add to your site but it won’t
   contain any posts that don’t include podcasts. You can’t use PowerPress to create
   a podcast feed based on a single WordPress page.
 * Since iTunes is currently using a non-PowerPress feed, you’ve got to get your
   iTunes Store listing updated. There’s a couple ways you can achieve this:
    1.)
   Follow the instructions listed [here](http://create.blubrry.com/manual/syndicating-your-podcast-rss-feeds/changing-your-podcast-rss-feed-address-url/).
   This is the best method because it’ll ensure that all previous subscribers, not
   just iTunes subscribers, continue to stay subscribed to your podcast. 2.) You
   can send an e-mail to podcasts(at)apple.com and ask them to update your iTunes
   Store listing for you. You’ll need to provide them the URL to your iTunes listing
   along with the new feed podcast feed URL. It may take them anywhere from a few
   days to a few weeks to update it, depending. Again, this method will only ensure
   iTunes subscribers to your show will continue to get new episodes. If you care
   about retaining your other listeners, please follow the steps linked to in option
   1.

 * Shawn, thanks so much for this info.
    When I try and validate [http://drhoffman.com/feed/podcast/](http://drhoffman.com/feed/podcast/),
   it tells me it can’t be found? Also I don’t see any podcasts listed when viewing
   the feed in a browser? Can you give me any direction as to why the podcasts are
   not populating in this default PP feed?
 * Thank you again for your help!

 * Your podcast feed has no entries. That’s why Feed Validator is giving you this
   error. You need to add some entries with podcast files attached to them first.

 * Gotcha.
    I have over 500 ‘Podcasts’ under the Podcast section. How do I get these
   into the feed?

 * Go to PowerPress >> Tools >> Import episodes and then click the appropriate link
   for whatever service was creating your previous podcast RSS feed. Follow the
   steps from there.

 * I don’t see any episodes listed on the import screen?

 * Did you try importing using your old podcast RSS feed ([http://www.drhoffman.com/podcasts/channel-1/podcast.xml](http://www.drhoffman.com/podcasts/channel-1/podcast.xml))?

 * I do this using the built in RSS Importer in WordPress correct?
    Will it duplicate
   all the existing podcasts I have?
 * I guess I’m confused as to why I can’t use the actual ‘Podcasts’ I have setup
   already under the ‘Podcasts’ menu item?
 * Thanks so much for your help.

 * I see you’ve got some podcasts [here](http://drhoffman.com/podcast-2/) and some
   more [here](http://drhoffman.com/listen/podcast-index/). How did you generate
   these podcast listings within the site? Are these individual WordPress categories?
   Are they pages? I think the first one is your actual podcast while the second
   one is simply an “archive” page.

 * Looks like the former developer created a custom post type called ‘Poscasts’
   and I thought this was part of PP. It obviously is not.
    On another note, does
   PP work with custom post types? Being that there are over 500 existing ‘Posts’,
   I’d like to keep the meta information/descriptions that are there instead of
   having to recreate them in the imported posts. Thanks for all your help on this
   Shawn, great support.

 * OK, now that we know your podcasts were setup with a custom post type, this gives
   us the next place to look. PowerPress does support custom post types. Take a
   look at [this support article](http://create.blubrry.com/resources/powerpress/advanced-tools-and-options/post-type-podcasting/)
   and see if post type podcasting has been configured on your site. Once it’s set
   up, you should see a “post type podcasting” menu you can access (it may already
   be there, depending) and from there, you can get the URL of your podcast RSS
   feed.

 * I got the custom post types going and went ahead and added an episode successfully
   to the feed. Thanks!
 * I have permalinks setup as [http://drhoffman.com/sample-post](http://drhoffman.com/sample-post).

   Are you able to gauge if everything is setup correctly by the RSS output? [http://goo.gl/yQSeM8](http://goo.gl/yQSeM8)

 * OK, your feed at [http://drhoffman.com/podcast/feed/intelligent-medicine/](http://drhoffman.com/podcast/feed/intelligent-medicine/)
   looks good. It passes feed validation and I also tested it by manually subscribing
   in iTunes and no problems there.

 * Great!
    I guess at this point I have to add the rest of them and then follow
   your instructions for notifying iTunes of the new feed to keep current subscribers?
   Last question…Should I be seeing the artwork for the podcast when I do the manual
   subscription in iTunes?

 * Yes, go ahead and add the rest of your episodes just like you did the one that’s
   there now and then follow the feed redirection instructions I linked to earlier.
 * Also, be sure to go into PowerPress >> Post Type Podcasting >> Click the name
   of your podcast feed under Feed Title >> Fill out everything in the Feed Settings,
   iTunes Settings and Artwork tabs. You should be all set once that’s done.
