• I am running Alkivia Chameleon as the theme on my blog – http://www.goodfoodstories.com – and it looks like it looks like the posts to the blog are not being written to the rss feed. I am getting a 404 Page not found error when going to the /feed url, and when I try to set it up through feedburner, it also says the URL isn’t valid.

Where within the theme is the RSS.2 url defined, and how can I direct my /feed url there? From my research, it seems like the bloginfo tag is stuck in a loop and will not generate a url for the feed.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems.

The theme does not write the RSS. There is no template for it. The rss link is returned and set by calling bloginfo(‘rss2_url’). The RSS output is provided by the WordPress core.

I’ve seen in your site thye link is set twice, and shows it twice in the header code.

Did you change the header.php code?
Have you any plugin to manage or provide feeds?

Some times, just saving the permalinks again solves this kind of issues.

As esmi said, if switching to default theme is a good start to isolate the problem. And deactivating all plugins to see if it solves and start activating one by one until you found which plugin makes it not to work.

I haven’t changed any header.php code. I have deactivated all plugins, and deleted my feedburner plugin until I can get this resolved. I have also changed/saved the permalinks, and none of this has helped.

If I switch to a default theme, will I have to rebuild this theme with all widgets, preferences etc. when I switch back?

Thank you for all your suggestions! This is incredibly frustrating and I appreciate the help.

    Update: thus far, I have:

    Disabled all plugins
Reset the permalink structure to default
Changed my theme to the default
Deleted my htaccess file and had WP rebuild it

None of these solutions has helped resolve this problem. Has this been a problem with anyone else using the Chameleon theme?

    Thanks, Casey

I’ve checked your site now, and feeds are working.

As said before, normally the themes do not write the feeds output, it’s done by WordPress core but some plugins can change it. Some themes can, perhaps do something with the feed output, but it is not the case of the Chameleon theme.

    How did you solved it?

This resolved this issue for me…
    Thanks Txanny 🙂
