# rss feed

 * my rss feeds have never worked from the very beginning. I have feedburner plugin
   I though that might help to fix it but it doesn’t.
    Here is my error message 
   Last checked 1 min ago I have been through all documentation and I don’t know
   what to do. I’m pretty new at this, don’t understand a lot of it.
 * Returning errors since 2 months ago
 * Most recent (1 min ago):
    This XML document is invalid, likely due to invalid
   characters. XML error: not well-formed (invalid token) at line 1, column 584

 * In order to actually fix this, you’ll need to disable the redirect to Feedburner.
 * Currently, there’s no way to tell if the problem is with WordPress or Feedburner,
   and what the actual problem therefore is.

 * ok James I did that it does not do anything but throw the code on my front page.
   So what do you think?

   is normal. It’s all code, but that’s because an RSS feed is just an XML stream
   of data meant to be interpreted by a feed reader, not a browser. See [https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Feeds#Feed_Errors_in_Browsers](https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Feeds#Feed_Errors_in_Browsers)
   for details.

 * So, I’m very glad you disabled that redirect so we can test, because whatever
   the problem is, it was definitely either on Feedburner’s end or it was the Feedburner
   plugin itself. 🙂
 * To be honest, Feedburner is a Google property and just about as low on their 
   priority list as something can be before being shut down (no changes or fixes
   for years), so I honestly recommend just not using Feedburner.
