 * My RSS feed suddenly stopped working. The page reads: This XML file does not
   appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is
   shown below.
    [http://www.alexandertolchinsky.com/main/?feed=rss2](http://www.alexandertolchinsky.com/main/?feed=rss2)
 * I did just change themes recently, but it was working right after I changed the
   theme. Does anyone know why it suddenly started doing this?

 * That’s actually normal, and your feed is perfectly valid too: [https://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.alexandertolchinsky.com%2Fmain%2Ffeed%2F](https://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.alexandertolchinsky.com%2Fmain%2Ffeed%2F)
 * An RSS feed is a stream of XML data, meant to be interpreted by a feed reader,
   like [RSSOwl](http://www.rssowl.org/) or [NewsBlur](https://newsblur.com/).
 * Now, while some browsers do include software to interpret RSS feeds, it’s generally
   not the browser’s place to do so, and most don’t even bother. 🙂
 * So, to recap, what you’re seeing is perfectly normal. Your feed is a stream of
   XML data with no associated style information, because it’s supposed to be interpreted
   by a feed reader, not a browser.

 * Ok, that makes sense; but there use to be a button at the top of the screen that
   people could click to “subscribe” that is gone now. Is that still ok?
    Also,
   how do I make it so people can sign up for email notifications. That was there
   before the new theme, but it is gone now. 🙁

 * With Firefox 39 in Windows 7 Pro I get my normal Subscribe button for RSS feeds.
   Does my feed work for you:

 * Could be something with your browser.

 * Email notifications would be handled through a plugin. What plugin were you using
   for that?
 * Just a note, the only major browser that cleanly parses a feed with subscribe
   options is Firefox. Chrome, IE, and Safari just display the raw XML, unless you
   have added an extension to handle feeds.

 * James,
 * I just finished building a wordpress recipe blog for my wife at [http://blueridge-spi.com/recipes/](http://blueridge-spi.com/recipes/)
 * I am running wordpress 4.2.2 persons can subscribe to my RSS feed but Google
   Chrome users as you stated above only display the raw XML.
 * I does parse OK in Firefox and IE.
 * After searching the web for a while, I found a wordpress plugin that was suppose
   to fix my problem. The plugin is feeeeed. I have downloaded and installed version
   0.9.10 which is compatible with wordpress 4.2.2 See website [https://wordpress.org/plugins/feeeeed/installation/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/feeeeed/installation/)
 * I followed installation directions:
 * 1.Upload the entire Feeeeed folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
    2.
   Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress. 3.Visit Settings
   Feeeeed. 4.Settiong and save.
 * I can not make sense out of instruction 4. So the plugin has not fixed my problem.
 * Can you provide any direction. At least 2 persons say they have got the plugin
   to work on chrome, but I have been unable to contact them as to that final step…
 * Any help would be greatly appreciated….
 * Thanks
 * Tony
