I’m not using any plugins. It’s just a normal mailchimp campaign I tried to set up with the RSS markup below. I don’t know why it distorts my featured image and if thats a wordpress image issue or not.
*|RSSITEMS:|*
<h2 class=”mc-toc-title”>*|RSSITEM:TITLE|*</h2>
By *|RSSITEM:AUTHOR|* on *|RSSITEM:DATE|*
*|RSSITEM:CONTENT_FULL|*
Read in browser »
*|RSSITEM:TWITTER|* *|RSSITEM:LIKE|*
*|END:RSSITEMS|*
<h3 class=”h3″>Recent Articles:</h3>
*|RSS:RECENT|*

So what’s the thing that’s displaying the RSS feed? Displaying it as an image, rather than outputting it as an XML RSS feed.
It’s an email newsletter, so when you open it in gmail, the featured image is stretched vertically. I appreciate your help.

Can you link us to the RSS feed with the problem?
Unfortunately I don’t think I can link it because it’s how the featured image is displayed in the email sent by mailchimp, specifically within gmail.
A programmer customized my wp theme so that the featured image also shows up within the post. I wonder if that has something to do with it.
