# RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: connect() timed out!

 * WP v3.3.2
    I have errors showing in: Incoming Links, WordPress Blog, & Other 
   WordPress News RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: connect() timed out!
 * I edited the class-http.php timeout from 5 to 30. But still have these errors.
 * Also, I am getting an error when I use the Search Widgets:
    An Unexpected HTTP
   Error occurred during the API request.
 * I installed the core control widget and disable the cURL in the External HTTP
   Access. It didn’t do anything. I have the PHP Streams available and the PHP fsockopen()
   available.
 * Any thoughts? Help is appreciated.

 * Have you tried:
 * – deactivating all plugins (yes, all) to see if this resolves the problem. If
   this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic
   plugin(s). If you can’t get into your admin dashboard, try resetting the plugins
   folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still
   cause problems.
 * – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

 * Thank you for responding kmessinger. It is appreciated. I took the site down 
   and am starting over with that one (not a blog site). However, I set up a new(
   a different URL) site for my blog and I am getting the same error message when
   searching plugins: “An Unexpected HTTP Error occurred during the API request.”
   I installed the core control plugin and disable the cURL in the External HTTP
   Access tab. It didn’t work. I still get the sames message. I have the PHP Streams
   available and the PHP fsockopen() available.
 * I am using the default theme 2011 1.3.

 * Also, I removed all plugins except for core control. Still have the problem.
