We were testing out our RSS feeds and noticed that when we get the email, it contains the snippet but it is including the text from the links from the Bookmarkify plugin we have added. Can someone instruct us on how to get rid of the text associated with the Bookmarkify plugin out of the emails?

  • Hello IMC,

There was an RSS issue with the an earlier version of Bookmarkify. Have you downloaded the latest update?

If so, what is your site? Perhaps I can try to diagnose the issue by looking more closely at your feed.

We did download the newer version which corrected the original problem. Now, we get an error and the xml page cannot be displayed. I don’t know that its related to your plugin but its been happening since we downloaded the newer version. Could be a coincidence with something else.

I’ve seen that error quite a bit with home grown RSS feeds. I’ve not yet seen it with a WordPress RSS feed.

One cause of the error is a malformed XML document. Another cause is an invalid character somewhere in the content.

If you open the RSS feed url in IE7 and get the error click on the link for more info. It should direct you to the exact line where the issue is. That may help you resolve it.

    Good luck.

I took your advice and this is what was displayed: Only one top level element is allowed in an XML document.
    Line: 58 Character: 2

    <ul></ul>
Where would this have been changed? I am not a programmer and for certain, didnt play with any code. Is this within the code on WP or within the code in Dreamweaver?
