Site is knysnakeep.org. RSS feed broke. Was given two errors. Second referred to video embed but since i only have to post the video url in the new WordPress, i can’t change the error (or don’t know if it is even one).

    http://feedvalidator.org says:

“In addition, interoperability with the widest range of feed readers could be improved by implementing the following recommendation.

line 111, column 0: content:encoded should not contain iframe tag£

Where does the ‘iframe’ tag come from?

The other error was “line 175, column 101: XML parsing error: <unknown>:175:101: not well-formed (invalid token)”.

It pointed to the “a” in the word “advantage” i.e. “they were favoured with a 10 percent advantage after”. No symbol involved so don’t understand why RSS broke.

Yep, i’m not a techie so call me dumb if you will help me 🙂

The iframe comes from your YouTube video in the post “Hulk Reignites International Pit Bull Debate”, and cannot be helped. That’s YouTube for you.

The actual problem comes from your post named “Dear Mayor Wolmarans (Grant Easton/ISDF)”. Something about that email has some very strange characters in it. You might want to paste it into a plain text editor like Notepad or something, take a look at the formatting, fix anything that looks “odd”, and paste it back into the post.

I looked at the feed’s source in Firefox and found the problem. There are these block characters that don’t render.

<li>R9-million in tenders was illegally paid to contractors when they were favoured with a 10 percent advantage after they did not receive the highest points for their submitted tenders.</li>
<li>He illegally and regularly used ratepayer’s money to pay for Knysna Tourism’s debt.</li>

Hopefully you can see the blocks here. Well, you can’t. There is a blank block right after “percent”. One after “tenders.” and one after “debt.”.

I would copy those lines into Notepad or something and re-paste them. Might use the Text editor when checking it.

You gentlemen are excellent. Thank you for the prompt response.

Samuel, thanks, at least i know that the frame isn’t anything i can do about.

Mark, i live in plain text so i’m surprised i copied that. Thank you!

    Feed is working 🙂
