# RSS does not resolve

 * ever since I upgraded to 3.7.1 and now 3.8 I get this error when I try to use
   the RSS feed. It was working perfectly before version 3.7
 * XML Parsing Error: XML or text declaration not at start of entity

   Number 3, Column 1:<?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”UTF-8″?> ^ on of my sites where
   this is happening is [http://12hourdealsforyou.com](http://12hourdealsforyou.com)

 * •Check your wp-rss2.php and wp-atom.php files for blank lines outside of <? and?
   > bracketed sections.
    •Check your wp-config.php file for blank lines outside
   of <? and ?> bracketed sections. •Check your theme’s functions.php file for blank
   lines outside of <? and ?> bracketed sections. •One by one, disable plugins and
   revalidate until you isolate the one causing the problem.

 * Thank you for your help but I could not fix the problem.
    I have 15 sites 10 
   of which are still on WP 3.6 and those rss feeds work perfectly fine. the remaining
   five are on 3.7.1 or 3.8, and none work. I removed all plugins and with all removed
   the feed does not work. there are no blank lines that I can find in any of the
   above mentioned files.
 * Is there a plugin that I can install that will give me the RSS ability?

 * Can you post a url for a working site? I’d like to compare the source code.
 * Does this happen with the default theme?
 * I am not aware of a plugin for this. RSS is built into WordPress so something
   from the outside is causing the problem.

 * All seems ok now. Just a little slow.
