RSS… a bit confused. any help?

Hey all,
I kind of understand the idea of RSS, but I have found mostly information on how to post your blog entries to an RSS feed. I wondered if there was a way or tool to pull RSS feeds from specified locations and have them appear in a sidebar or something on my blog page? So, I don’t want to host feeds, just pull and display them. Any help? thanks in advance =)
