Support » Plugins » Route plugin and rendering the map

  • This has got to be a simple issue, but I’m a newbie, and stumped. I did a search for route plugin map render and got nothing relevant.

Yesterday I downloaded installed and configured WordPress 2.6.2 and got it going easily. I then installed the Routes plugin and got it working as well.

I am now trying to render one of the maps from a gpx file. I’ve imported the file, and generated the map in the Routes Waypoints section. So far so good.

The problem is that I don’t see the map in the blog post at all. All I see is the link to the gpx file in my server filesystem, no map.

If I click on the link, I see a 404:
    Not Found

The requested URL /blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/squawpassup.gpx was not found on this server.

The path is valid, but there’s no squawpass.gpx file, like it says. There are files in the uploads routes directory, but they are elevation profile png files-no map.

Things seem to be working since I can see the map with the waypoints in the Route Waypoints section.

How do I get it to render in the blog post?

  • I may have solved it by installing and activating the RoutesSandbox theme.

Some more experimentation and maybe I’ll be getting the hang of it.

I gotta say, this has been relatively problem free, and pretty fun getting it going.
