 * Dunnoe if it’s me, my server, or what, but I’ve been using the [rotator.php](http://automaticlabs.com/products/rotator/)
   for a long while now and really enjoying it.
 * today, without making any changes at all, it is not working. the result is a
   broken image.
 * I updated to the latest version, and the report back is “IMAGE ERROR” and no
   page loading.
 * Anyone else notice that their rotator.php is broken suddenly?
 * F.

 * I have been using this for about a year now, has never failed me. You can rotate
   ads/images or whatever

 * Interesting…
 * I am interested in alternatives, but my primary questions are about why the script,
   and its update are suddenly, and without molestation borked!
 * creepy.

 * I’d ask your host if they have made any changes at all to their php installation.

 * I did ask them, and just got a reply:
 * “CWI has deployed several security changes do to the ever increasing number of
   web exploits on the internet these days. Being this is a shared environment,
   one exploitable script of one user can potential effect everyone on that server.
 * In addition to firewall changes and system adjustments, CWI is currently testing
   and certifying its servers daily to pass the FBI/SANS Internet Security Tests.
 * If there is any possible work around for what you are trying to accomplish, please
   do so. We understand this will not be possible for every situation.
 * We thank you for your understanding and your help maintain and certify our network
   security to the highest government and industry standards.”
 * I replied to this asking for more information and if these minor scripts (not
   just rotator.php is out) will be permitted to run at some point, or if i need
   to seek a new host.
 * Funny that selling digital files, and rotating images are not allowed (suddenly,
   without warning) yet WP and BB scripts which produce serious bottlenecks of spam
   robots are allowed.
 * There must be something which I don’t understand about these more minor scripts.
 * I hate spammers more and more every single day.

 * A little more information:
 * Looks like CWI Hosting have closed all operations on shared hosting servers which
   use fopen()
 * So we’re out of luck unless there’s another way to rotate images without using
   URL’s to call them.
 * Bammer!
 * Anyone know a good host?

 * I discovered that there is an alternative rotator script which works under these
   circumstances.
 * If your host has decided (for whatever idiot set of reasons) to close fopen and
   fsock, try [A Better Rotator](http://www.alistapart.com/articles/betterrotator/)
 * I’ve replaced my old script with this one, and it’s working fine.
