Rotating image in widget
-
Hello,
I would like to place on the homepage a widget, which shows a different image from a Picasa album every time the page is reloaded.
How do I do that?
Also, I don’t understand how to work the widget at all. I have an album I want to use for an image in the widget, and I put in the photo ID, but it says in the widget (on the page)”No photos found for specified shortcode”.
Please help.
Thank you.

Thank you for your assistance.
You are right about the thumbnails: they shrink because they want to fit into an area too smal for them.
For some reason, the program doesn’t recognize that this is a full-width page, and tries to shrink the gallery into the area of blog (only mirrored, my Hebrew blog is on the right side), leaning space for the nonexistent sidebar. This is strange, and previously it has not behaved this way, but filled the whole page.Or rather, not even the blog space, but some space in the middle of the page, I don’t know where it is defined.
On the Shashin settings page, you’ll see a setting for “Content width (in pixels) for your theme” which defaults to 600. You can increase this to match the width of your theme’s main content area.
I’m writing a blog post that explains all this 🙂
I did, it stands on 800. There is plenty of space there for 5 thumbnails of 150px (it makes 750), but still it shrinks even with 3.
You can see this is so on the detailed album page: the setting is on 6 thumbnails per row and 800 width, and nothing shrinks there, and the page is filled out better.
Thanks – this is a bug. The challenge for me with the album thumbnails is I don’t know their size before they are loaded (for the photos, the sizes are in the Picasa feed). So I have to determine the size after they load, and there seems to be a problem with how I’m doing it (the challenge is when there’s a mix of portrait and landscape album thumbnails). I’ll work on fixing it.
Interesting.
Well, I am not in a hurry at the moment.
How did you work it out in the previous version? There was no problem, and they were set very nicely into squares, relative to the square. And they filled the screen – 5 of them in a row. Of course, I don’t understand the coding thing, so…
If it helps – this shrinking thing started only yesterday, after the latest update.Hi Mike,
You fixed the problem, thank you. 🙂You’re welcome, and thanks for the detailed feedback.
