Support » Plugin: Team Rosters » Roster Table Not Displaying Properly on Mobile

  • My team and I have been experiencing an issue where the roster tables don’t adjust well when viewed on mobile (see here: https://imgur.com/a/nlgi0 ). I’d be content showing less info on mobile, such as just the player picture and name, and have the rest of their information linked on their player page, but I’m not sure how to customize the roster table to change the way it displays depending on the client, or if that’s even possible. Any help you could provide would be very helpful. Thanks!

    Hi maland2,
Thank you for posting here. This is a good question. The short answer is the tables were never designed to be responsive. I wish they were, but they weren’t. It’s on the list for whenever I get back to the Team Rosters plugin.

Actually, it doesn’t look terrible on my phone, because it scrolls horizontally. That’s a big no-no with some UI “experts”, and I won’t argue that, but still it’s not terrible.

You can go into the Settings screen and hide a lot of the columns [even on a big screen] as you suggest. But that’s lame. I really like the idea of reducing the columns that are displayed based on screen size. Maybe someday. If there’s a CSS guru that wants to take this on, just let me know.

Sorry I don’t have a better answer for you.

The biggest issue I had with it wasn’t the horizontal scrolling, but the warped pictures. Do you know if there is any way to lock the column width for that column?

This a come up a number of times. I looked for it in the documentation, guess the users manual can use an update.

Anyway, you have to load photos with a square aspect ratio. 150x150px is perfect on the players pages.

I believe I already have the player photos set up to display at 200×200 based on the settings here. Is this the correct way to set this up?

It should be but unfortunately it is not. 🙁

I think some settings in your Media Library may be the issue. Please check out this recent post: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/blurry-photo-2/

    Hope that helps.
