Support » Plugin: WP Image Zoom » Room for improvement

The zoom feature works but there are a few flaws with this plugin:

    1. The plugin has a top-level menu. Because this isn’t the kind of plugin you need to frequently change the settings for – this is completely unnecessary. It should be moved to General like most other plugins. It also doesn’t have any sub-menus so the fact it’s a top-level menu at all is questionable. Clearly the plugin is trying to grab too much attention.

    2. The zoom feature can’t be disabled when the image doesn’t have a larger version to zoom in on. If the thumbnail is the full size photo, the zoom effect doesn’t do anything. It should just be disabled in that case, but it isn’t. So it just looks confusing.

    3. The “zoom level” option doesn’t work. I think it’s supposed to be disabled? Maybe it’s a pro only item? The tooltip doesn’t work so I don’t even know. I can still change the zoom level, but it doesn’t do anything. And it doesn’t save.

    4. When using a border for a lens, the image is not offset by the border width. This makes it so the image doesn’t line up properly. Not noticeable if your images are large, but for products with images only slightly larger than the thumbnail it is quite noticeable.
