I had created a role very similar to Admin, Dev, removing access to Advanced Access Manger and being able to add plugins. I am still the main Admin and my username is assigned the original role.

I did a series of updates to my site’s theme and plugins and now it appears that I can’t access the Advanced Access Manager settings nor can I add a plugin. Is it possible that the role settings from Dev accidentally got applied to Admin? Is there a way for me to back these restrictions out? (Disabling the plugin did not work.)

The theme had me install Easy Theme and Plugin Upgrades. Could this have a conflict with AAM?

    Hi WP Monkey,

It seams like your admin lost some capabilities. You have to be very careful with managing capabilities for your Administrator role.

AAM page by default requires the “administrator” capability so any role that does not have this capability, will not have access to AAM.

Regarding Plugins, please check this response https://wordpress.org/support/topic/access-denied-48?replies=2
