• Firstly, I like this, really do…

    Have a few questions…

    Whilst I can restrict an author, the following are still able to see and use in post editor ;

    All | Mine | Published | Draft | Bin

    The user can also select ‘Bulk Actions’

    I tried checking and unchecking to no effect?

    All I want is to allow author to only edit their own post with no ability to anything else, save and it await Admin approval.

    In addition, it does not seem to hide sidebars in a post so a author cannot effect any changes.

    Maybe I’m getting this wrong?

    Many Thanks

    If you need that new post will be approved by admin or editor use WordPress built-in ‘contributor’ role.
    More trusted ‘author’ role can publish his posts himself.
    Both these roles can edit just their own posts. Moreover contributor can not edit his post, if it was published already.

    Thank you,

    I create the post and assign an author to that post so that they can then manage/edit it.

    This is why I was looking at a way to restrict what functions that they can use within their dashboard, plugins. sidebars etc.
