    Hello,

I’m using Active Directory Integration in my WordPress site (7.1) to anthenticate and create users from our Active Directory server.
It works fine but I have an issue with the option of role equivalent groups :
I use AD security groups to give specific roles for staff users (contributor) and students users (subscriber). It works fine but I also want to give specific rights to some people of my staff as an editor role.
Unfortunetely, each time they log in, their role is set up again as contributor.

I would like the plugin to give the good role when a new user is logging in for the first time (and then created in WP database), but not updating it again the next times.

Thanks for your help and sorry for my english (I’m french).

    Fred

  • You could create new AD groups to match the role you want (author/editor) and add the specific users in question to those AD groups. They’re WP Role should change next time they log in.

You could also take it a step further and install something like the Members plugin – create new custom roles w/ your desired capabilities… then make matching AD groups to manage them the same way.

    Hi,

Thanks four your answer. Unfortunetely, I can’t do your first proposition for two reasons : I’m not the AD administrator and he doesn’t want to creape new security groups, it is not in their processes.

But I will take a look to the members plugin, it may deal with what I want to do. Thanks again.
