    Hello,

You mean show search results only for specific user roles?
Or show some products in search results only for some roles and hide for other?

    Regards

Limit products based on roles… for example, right now we have product categories in the main navigation, but they are tied to various roles so that any one role doesn’t see all the categories. However, with the search, right now ALL the products potentially show up, and it would be great to limit the search results based on the role. I’m not sure what the best angle is to pursue this… possibly filtering based on category, as that would be more efficient than having to set roles for every product. I guess this sounds like a two step thing… the search would have to check roles, but the role editor would need to assign roles to categories, too. (Thinking out loud there.)

So roles assign not to specific products but for specific categories?
Can you also please tell me how make this role-based thing? You use some plugin for this?

Either products or categories would work, but it would be easier to update a large number of products if it would work by category (since they are all assigned to categories that match the roles anyway.) This is the plugin we’re using for managing roles… https://www.role-editor.com

The role editor allows us to control viewing of pages, etc., but the search results end up being outside of that since it’s querying the database.

I am also interested in a solution to only show search results based on role visibility. I have recently found this issue on my store as well.
