Support » Fixing WordPress » Riva slider missing on front page

  • Hi, I changed my the front page on my site from my static “Welcome” page to my “Blog” page. I did this by going to Settings–>Readings–> Front Page displays –> Your latest posts. Having done so, now when I go into the site, it initially looks perfect – the front page shows my blogposts and the Riva easing slider. However if I click on any of the menu tabs (including the blog page tab) the slider disappears.

I also find myself a little confused as I believed that if the front page displays your latest posts then that meant that on entering the site you were immediately taken to the blog page. The fact that when I go into my blog tab I see something different implies that this is not the case. I have tried to get round this by changing my front page to a static page (Front page displays–>static page–>posts page–> blog). This would be perfect too – if it were not for the fact that the slider is nowhere to be seen.

Any clues how to rectify this? I have a feeling that I am making a very basic error here but several hours in I have yet to figure out what it is.

The website is and I am a wordpress 3.5.1 theme.

  • Which plugin are you using for your slider? Perhaps you should check and see if the plugin author has a support forum.

Hi, thanks for coming back. I am using the Riva Easing Slider. The slider works perfectly when I make my front page my Welcome page. When I make my front page my Blog page, everything looks good when I first go into the site (ie when I type, but when I go into the Blog tab, the slider is not there.

You’ll have much better luck if you search and post there.
