Support » Fixing WordPress » right-aligned image shifted to the right

  • Hi,

    I’ve just installed WP and am using the default unmodified Twenty Thirteen theme.
    In one post I have an image with the alignment set to right. It displays well in the visual editor but it is not correctly aligned (on the right) with the text in the preview or live post. See here (blog.linkody.com/seo/using-linkody-to-monitor-anchor-text-and-avoid-google-penalties)
    What’s the problem?
    Cheers

  • I think that is happening because of this CSS:

    .entry-content img.alignright, .entry-content .wp-caption.alignright {
      margin-right: -60px;
    }

    It’s adding a negative margin of 60px to the alignright image which pushes it out of the container. It would be easy enough to change that with a child theme style sheet but what I don’t know, is why it is there in the first place.

    I created a child theme and changed it. Thanks.
