Rich text editor vanished on post page

    in my post page, i could see two options Visual and Html. but i can take only visual html is not working. i am new to wordpress and i’m trying to learn, so i dont remember whether i had this feature 2,3 days back when i installed it first. when i saw my friends admin page i could see there is an html version for the post page editor then only i realized its some problem with my installation. i can see the editor when i go to write a page or edit a page/post. its when i click write new post, that is not showing up. what could be the reason?. since i am learning wordpress i used to install soo many plugins to learn each, will that be a cause? i tried deactivating them but still it didnt work. please help.. do i need to reintall wordpress?

    sorry, to correct the above post mistake.
    what i can see is the html version and not the visual. visual is not working for me. help!!!

    Hi there.
    Have you checked in your profile area,
    to see if visual editor has a check mark? hope it helps.
