Support » Requests and Feedback » revision and autosave option in settings

  • plugin section has lot of plugins most of them unsupported and not updated offering revisions and autosave disable and deletion of revisions.

    forums are flooded by ppl havinf issues with their databases and probably having to look for third party plugins to do something most ppl need is wht is moving ppl to use plugins that at some point can break their installations.

    it would be good to add a setting option for revisions and other for autosave

    if you want it to be great adding tickboxes in post page next to each revision like in media library to delete them manually would be great

    but option in setting to disable it would be more than enough

    the less plugins

    the less problems with databases as wordpress get updated, better performace of wordpress and less mails from hosts about a wordpress blog getting too much resources.

    also less post from ppl with problems in their databases as there will be less plugins playing with wordpress intalls databases.

  • You don’t need a plugin. Just put this in your wp-config.php file:

    define('WP_POST_REVISIONS', false );
    define('AUTOSAVE_INTERVAL', 86400 );  // that's one day in seconds

    Editing wp-config.php

    i still think that adding an small option in settings would be a great idea

    but for me you have given me a great answer to some things i was going to do.

    so thx you very much sincerously

    excuse me but ive read that any custom line in wp_config should be added just before the closing php tag ?> at the end of wp_config but in my wp_config i dont find that closing tag

    is that normal

    and where am i supposed to add it
