Return visitor gets new blog post alert? Plugin

I was looking for a plugin that would tell a new visitor about a brand new post that they haven’t read yet. Similar to how facebook shows a number over the messages you havent read. This is aimed at catching the eye of return visitors. Anyone know of a plugin or have any ideas? Thanks
