• I set up a blog for a friend on her bludomain server and all was going ok for a few months because i pressed the auto upgrade option.

Bludomain being completely incompetent are not properly set up to upgrade not to help out where needed so the blog became inaccessible.

Long story short i downloaded all of the old files onto my hard drive then deleted the old blog off of the blue domain server and reloaded wordpress (which still loaded a much older version of wordpress).

Is it at all possible to access the post from the downloaded files so that i can import them back into the blog once it is up and running again?

    Cheers guys

  • did you back up the database? if yes then setup WP on localhost and import that DB backup. Then export the post from wp-admin and import it to your new online WP.

No i didn’t back it up. I know how to retrieve post that way. Just a download of the blog once sign in was no longer allowed.

Surely those post must sit in a folder/file somewhere in the downloaded version and can just be transported back over in place of an existing folder on the new install. Is that not the case ?
