  • hello all.
    im trying to retrieve the <b>text only</b> (not who posted it or when etc) into another page in another directory.

    i have read through some other posts but im not quite sure what to do myself. i think i have to use the php retrieve function, but i dont know what the variable for the blogged text is.

    thanks

  • Can you be more specific? You want to retrieve a post from your database onto Pages or other posts? Are you trying to make a blockquote?

    If you can be more specific, we can be more helpful. And check the WordPress Codex for more helpful information.

    okay. im basicly using this as a cms, so i blog into a page so the text appears on my website.

    so on my website, the frame that i allocate for the wordpress text, im looking for a tag to get the text that i have blogged.

    so basicly i blog, and the text that would usualy appear in word press appears on my index.php on my website

    Your best bet is to strip down the default template (index.php), if you just want the text (with no title), just use this in the index.php file:

    <div class="storycontent">
    <?php the_content(__('(more...)')); ?>
    </div>

    Then you can use the wordpress page in a frame (unless you’re misusing using that word and not actually using <frame> tags).
