You, unfortunately, didn’t link your site, so I can’t take a look myself and check where there is still an AdSense code hidden here.
From what you describe, I’m sure that somewhere on your site, you insert the code for Auto Ads via an option of your theme.
We list such classic places in this tutorial and show in a video how you can identify and find this code.
If you cannot find the reason for the ads, I would appreciate it if you could post your website URL here.

The AdSense verification code is injected into your website. By following the tutorial above you can learn to identify the code snippet in your websites source and look if the position of this snipped gives any hints about the origin of the injection.
On your website its looking like this:

You can remove this in your Site Kit settings at Site Kit > Settings > AdSense
