I have the same issue. Actually I am considering to by pro version, but maybe it’s better to wait while this plug will be fixed?

I would wait. I would not pay for a plugin that does not work properly and one for which there is no support so far.
I look at upgrades also as endorsements for devs. If the product is not working and they do not respond, then I am not rewarding that with money.
So do wait, the dev may be working on it and they may yet respond to our thread.

Did you actually add the “read more” break in the post editor?

That is the shortcode which fetches the posts, that is fine, I am asking about the posts themselves.
Inside the posts themselves, do you have a “read more” break tag inserted?
If not, I do not see by what logic you wanted the text to be cut. Maybe you hoped the plugin would read your mind, that would indeed be a handy feature but alas, it is not possible.
You should learn the bare basics of WP before calling out plugins as “broken”.
Inside the posts, add the “read more” break tag where you want the text to be cut. The pro version ( among other things ) supports a character limit which is applied to all posts, but in the free version you have to add the “read more” tag to each individual post.
Hey vk011 – I don’t think you should be so rude.
I DID put the read more tag in my posts and the grid displayed the whole post with read more after every paragraph.
I then bought pro and now instead of excerpts the grid displays lines of code beneath each thumbnail.
I then discover there is no support and only your rude comments here.
I won’t cry broken if you get back to me today – but tomorrow I will shout it indeed!

This is not the place to ask support for the pro version, and I see from your email to me, you fixed the “problem of not showing posts” yourself, which had nothing to do with the plugin being broken once again.
Please refrain from doing that in the future.
As for the support, of course I am not obligated to provide support for the free plugins, it is my good will to do so. And the support for the pro plugins is very fast, since the plugins are commercial.
I came back here to thankyou for fixing the problem – which WAS a problem with the pro version of the plugin seeing shortcodes as text.
But since you have lied here about there not being a problem with the plugin and you are still so rude what can I say?
Your plugin solves my problem and I appreciate you fixing the problem with it – why shoot yourself in the foot by being so rude???

I do not see how I am being rude but anyway.
You had a problem with showing the posts on your front page, which you said “you fixed yourself”. And in that e-mail you gave me a link to another page, where the posts were displayed, but they contained shortcodes as text, instead of parsing them.
the plugin didn’t support reading shortcodes inside the posts because I didn’t think anyone would need that, and now it does support it since you asked for it. But the plugin DID display posts, it just read shortcodes as text as well, which does not make it broken.
