    Hi,

I have an issue where the translation of a certain string doesn’t show up, regardless of what I do.

This is the line on the link: “Showing 1–16 of 48 results”

I checked the string in Loco Translate, and it has a Hungarian translation added. I made a copy of it in a custom folder in Loco, and even copied the po and mo files in Woocommerce’s own safe folder. When these didn’t work, I tried editing it with Say What (which worked for other strings on the site), but this single line is just not working whatever I do.

The original string is: Showing %1$d–%2$d of %3$d results. I found it in templates/loop/result-count.php , and it seems identical to the one in the translation files, so I’m out of ideas what could be the problem.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @kazerniel

In LocoTranslate, please make sure you’ve entered both translations (there should be an “other” tab for the plural version) like this: https://cld.wthms.co/9FuCA7

Also, are you using any other plugins that might also produce that line? Or perhaps your theme has a template override for the result-count.php file? If it does, you should be able to find those in wp-content/themes/yourtheme/woocommerce/. Or, you can even copy the result-count.php file into your theme’s template overrides and change it there to see if that fixes it.

One way to test whether it’s another plugin overriding it is to disable all of the plugins except for WooCommerce and see if it changes the text. If it DOES change the text correctly, you know one of your plugins is overriding it. You can then re-enable your plugins one-by-one until the text is incorrect again. At that point, you should be able to edit the translation file of that particular plugin to change the text to what you would like it to be.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply!

I checked the plural version, and it’s correct.

My theme doesn’t have a woocommerce folder, so I guess it doesn’t overwrite the file.

The site is a live storefront, so I can’t freely turn off plugins, but I’m looking into a staging addon.

    Hi @kazerniel

Thank you for checking on that plural version.

My theme doesn’t have a woocommerce folder, so I guess it doesn’t overwrite the file.

    That sounds logical!

The site is a live storefront, so I can’t freely turn off plugins, but I’m looking into a staging addon.

If you haven’t found one yet, WP Staging is quick, easy, and free. 🙂

Please let us know the plugin testing goes. If you’re unable to find the culprit, please let us know and we can keep troubleshooting.
