Hey @porterhomesteaddesigns,
Thank you for reaching out to Paid Memberships Pro.
This can happen as a result of caching plugins which are not excluding PMPro pages. Though caching is a great way to speed up a site, precautions need to be taken when using caching alongside PMPro to ensure that PMPro functions correctly and content is restricted as expected. You can test whether caching is causing issues on your site by temporarily disabling all caching plugins and then testing if the issues you are experiencing are resolved.
We have an article which explains more fully why caching may break PMPro functionality and how to set up your caching plugins to be compatible with PMPro here.
I hope this information is helpful.
Kind regards,
Michael
So I just spent an hour on the phone with my hosting support, we shut off all cache and are still having the issue. I have tried everything at this point. Not sure how to proceed.
I appreciate you letting me know. This may be either a conflict with another active plugin or the theme. To better narrow this down and confirm, could you please temporarily deactivate all plugins, other than the core Paid Memberships Pro plugin, and test whether this issue persists and revert back to us? You can either deactivate them temporarily in bulk or work through them one by one. If the issue persists from there, revert to the default Twenty Twenty One theme. If the issue is resolved after deactivating a specific plugin or your theme, you’ll know that is the source of the conflict.
If you can install plugins, install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site. There’s a more detailed description about how to use the Health Check plugin and its Troubleshooting Mode in this article: Troubleshooting using the Health Check plugin.
When you identify the problem, please let me know, and I suggest getting in touch with the plugin or theme author.
I have done all of these troubleshooting things, changed back to default themes and have deactivated all plugins and tried troubleshooting this way as well and nothing has worked. The issue still persists.
I now have a second site that I run with this same exact issue happening. Turnerrosehillfarm.com
I’m really sorry to hear about the issues you are facing @porterhomesteaddesigns.
As @michaelbeil stated, issues like these may originate from interference from something else.
Can you kindly confirm that this issue persist when using a default WordPress theme, e.g. Twenty Twenty-Three, and only the core Paid Memberships Pro plugin is active?
Kind regards,
Theunis C.
This is not resolved. As I mentioned, I have tried wordpress themes, and I have tried deactivating all other plugins yet I continue to have this issue. This was marked as solved and I did not get any more notifications about this. Please help with this issue as I have had multiple sites with this problem.
Thank you for your patience @porterhomesteaddesigns, I’m sorry this is still not resolved.
This is often caused by aggressive caching (server-side or must-use caching plugins). A great way to test this is to login, view the content and add a random query parameter to the URL to force an uncached version to load (for example – https://thenestinthewest.com/2023/02/beyond-chevre-course-content/?test=123)
If the page loads with ?test=123 in the URL this is confirmation that caching is causing issues.
Alternatively, a local WordPress freelancer or developer may help you debug this site specific issue. Paid Memberships Pro requires login access to work, in order to show content.
