 * I’m happy to say that I was able to install and import my old entries into WordPress
without any problems. Now I have a question regarding restricted p0sts. I know
that WordPress comes with a “Post Password” feature that allows the author to
set a password for each individual post. I previously used a Scriptygoddess script

for MT to password protect my posts. Since I have over 120 restricted posts from
my old MT blog, it would be quite tedious to manually enter a password for each
entry. I think I also prefer the cookie method of the Scriptygoddess script.
I would appreciate it if anyone could tell me if there is a way to use the Scriptygoddess
restricted access post script in WordPress. Or if they have any other suggestions
on how to do this without manually entering a password for my old entries.

 * I think I can come up with a modification to the script so that it works with
WP – but honestly, I’m still getting my “sea legs” in WP myself – so it may take
a little while. In essence the script would stay the same – you’d swap out the“
MT Category” tag – with the WP equivalent – but I’m still trying to figure out
how archive pages work with WP – so I’m not sure what happens when you move to
the ind. archive page (equivalent) –
not sure if that made sense…

 * Actually, I was re-thinking this…
probably even easier than my original thought
would be to USE the built-in WP password protection. A simple mySQL query on
any posts with category=restricted – set password = (your password) would set
all your imported posts to the password you picked originally I’ll try to look
into that very soon… As for the cookie thing, though – that will take a little
   longer to work out…

 * Thank you! I’ve been look at WP and though I’m a novice compared to others, I’ve
found my way around it. The cookie thing would be nice but I’m definitely open
   to new ideas.
I took a look at what davidchait wrote in this post: [http://wordpress.org/support/4/1997](http://wordpress.org/support/4/1997)
about having certain posts viewable by users with a certain level. I’m having
trouble with the code snippet he has in that post. I keep receiving a parse error.
I’ll keep at it. I know I’m missing something that’s probably really simple.
   lol
