Support » Plugin: Frontier Post » Restrict front-end user posts to default category

I would like to restrict the multi-selection of categories (actually eliminate it) and only allow posts submitted via the Frontier Post front-end to be assigned the default category.

I am looking at the plugin code and have some ideas on how to proceed, but would like your input. It seems to me that modifying code in the frontier_form.php file would do the trick … ?

    Do you have suggestions?

    Thanks

I only have access to an iPad right now, but will look into it later during the weekend

I believe the esiest for you is to add readonly to the html select statement for categorymulti:

    <select name="categorymulti[] " readonly

I cant test it, but it should work, as WP would fill in the default category, if no category is selected, during save.

I might consider this as a parameter in the settings

That should work. I’ll give it a try a bit later today and check back in.

In the new version (1.4.8) you can hide category, and the post will automatic be set to the default category

Just updated – works exactly like I want it to. Thanks. Nice plugin. Very straightforward and dependable.

    Thanks again,

    Bill
