Restrict access to a whole site via Active Directory group

I have a multi-site install that is working OK, but need to create some sub-sites that are completely restricted access by an Active Directory group. A user would be be able to login with their username and password, only if they are a member of the group. Otherwise, the general public can see nothing.

Is this possible? How do I set it up? THX,

It’s probably best to do that at a server level I would think. Configure the server to only allow certain AD people or roles to even access that subdomain. I’m just thinking out loud. Maybe someone else will have more specific details on how to do that?
