Is there some documentation with this. I could sure use some help.

So, I am trying to test my backup. I am doing this on my local MAMP drive.
    I uploaded the SQL file.
Then I copied all my WordPress files to my local drive.
I edited the we-config file to point to the database.
Then I tried to login but my login reverts back to my actual website.

What am I doing wrong? Is there some guidance for trying to restore (or in this case, test) from a backup?

Hello TSemmes, you can have a read from the following:

    1) backup and restore
    2) These instructions might help you as well although the are with Xampp which is very similar to MAMP.

Let me know if you need more help

    Kind regards

Thank you. But what I was looking for was help in copying the site to a new server. Your instructions only cover moving WordPress within the same server.
Do you have any help for that. Thank you very much for your assistance

Hi TSemmes, what BacKWpup helps you with is backup your whole site including the database. Then all you have to do is take the compress file to a new server and install it there. The instructions above also help you with moving your site to a new server. What I used as an example was moving a WordPress site from a live server into Xampp server locally and I was successfully in carrying out that procedure which is exactly the same as moving from one server to another server.

If you can be of further assistant please let me know.

    Kind regards
