    Hello awesome people! πŸ™‚

I have an issue that I’m trying to resolve (if it even can be), but I’m not having any luck finding a solution.

I used to run a blog, and decided not to renew the domain. Before it expired, I went in and ran a complete backup of the site using my host’s control panel, assuming that everything I would need from WordPress to reinstall later would be included in the backup file.

I have all the files, and placed them into a sub-directory on a new site I just started, but when I go to the page, it says “Error establishing database communication.”

Question is, is it possible to restore my previous site and its contents this way, somehow… or am I screwed? I’m not interested in pictures or anything, there are just a couple of articles I would like to recover.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

You’d need to get a copy of your database from the hosting company – sounds like you don’t have that?

If you just want a bit of content, try the web archive :

If it didn’t come through the backup I did of the entire site, then no! πŸ™ I’ll try the link you gave though. Hopefully that works!
