    Hi there,

    First time user here.
I notice that the restore ALL contents option is only allowed for remote destination. Probably as a security measure.
Is there a solution for allowing whole site restoration to a subfolder at same server as the original site?

    Thanks!

Yes, you would need to simply do a remote restore and target your local install, so it’s a step more where you need to download thr restore script and put it inside your local subfolder, then supply it’s url in the Restore screen.

    Hope it helps.

Great, that sounds nice, many thanks!
In such cases, what happens with the DB?
It will also be restored in it’s original location (MySQL)?
Meaning that the files will be in a subfolder and the DB will be restored/replaced – or the DB will also be at subfolder as a single sql file?

You can restore the database to a new empty database, that would properly separate your sites.

Yep, that would be better indeed. Good idea!

In case of a restoration/migration from a different host, will the plugin also handle serialized data (both arrays and objects) or has this be be done manually afterwards?

Xcloner does have an option to replace the old url with thr new one at the time of import including serialized data, so feel free to give it a try.

    Great, that’s excellent!
Is there a particular option/setting for this when cloning a site from one location to another and changing domain name or just using the search-replace entry accordingly (and enabling the option for wp-config)?

The replacing is done on restore only using the search and replace option.

    That works fine, great job!
I only had a problem transferring an SSL site (HTTPS) to a non SSL target (HTTP) as all links where with HTTPS. But even that is easy to correct in the DB afterwards.

One more question about the restore script:
Are all vendors files really needed?
In order to speed up the script upload in case of simple FTP server transfer, would it be possible to remove some of them that are not relevant and also edit the vendor.phar file accordingly?

If your server supports phar format, then you only need to upload xcloner_restore.php and vendor.phar files. You could remove some of the files but only using composer.

    Hope it helps

Thanks, will leave it as is for the time being until I get successful testing results.
