Restored site can't see media library

I’ve just restored a site using backwpup and when I go to the media library, all my media is listed, but none of the thumbnails show (except for one PDF).

On my pages, they all show as broken images. If I try to add media, I just get the same broken images in the library. I used cpanel file manager to check the location of these media files and they are all in wp-content/uploads and are in year folders which seems to be correct, so I’m baffled as to why they wont show – anyone help?
