Restored backup blog and all links no longer working

    Hi! I recently was forced to clear out the contents of my webhosting account with my hosting provider but made a complete backup of all the files and the database beforehand.

    When I finished clearing the contents of my webhosting account I uploaded all of the files again, went into phpMyAdmin and created the database using the same name as before, and then used the import option to bring the database back in.

    Everything seems fine initially. I can sign into wp-admin without any problems and make changes and write or edit posts. The home page of my blog shows without any issues. When I click any of the links in my blog though the pages show error 404 and do not load.

    This is a personal blog so I apologize about not providing a link. I would seriously appreciate any assistance in identifying the problem!

    Have you changed the permalink structure in your new site that is inconsistent with the old one?

    Maybe you could tell us what the url of one of your non-working links looks like, with the actual domain name replaced with “domain.com” or some such if you don’t want us to see it.
