  • Resolved worldspeak

hello, i just installed WP multisite so that i could make multiple country subfolders for my website. however, i had to take out the www initially and now all of my links with www on the page don’t work. how can i add the www back onto the site URL? it does not give me that option on general settings neither under the network admin or site admin

  • How about fix it the other way?

Put this in your .htaccess above the WordPress lines:

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.(.+)$ [NC]
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://%1/$1 [R=301,L]

I found a simple solution. Add the ‘www’ into wp- config & also on the database!

Actually, my ‘solution’ created problems with accessing the Network Admin site with too many redirects. I had to remove the ‘www’ on the database and wp-config.

The good news is that your solution above works in redirecting all links with www to the non-www links! great!

One more question – if I would like to add on the www, how can I do so without messing up things on my site?
