• Hi,

I moved my locally hosted WordPress to my VPS. I successfully exported-imported the pages and posts but I can’t do the same with the FS contact forms and the forms fields. I already tried on the admin: Plugins -> FS Contact Form -> Tools -> Backup settings (on my localhost) and Restore settings (on my vps) but it didn’t work: I always get the “Restore failed: Backup file contains invalid data.”

How can I solve this problem?

    Thanks,
    Nandor

  • Anything on this list can cause data corruption, if you did one of these, try it again the proper way.

    — Never run a script on your WordPress MYSQL database to make a bulk change of entries such as URLs. If you do this to the mysql database, it can cause data loss because the form data is serialized. Only change the URLs from the WP settings screens. If you need to move from an old site to a new site, you can use the contact form backup/restore tool to get your forms going on the new server. Just edit your forms on the new server to correct the redirect URLs on each form.
    — Never hand edit the backup files because the data is serialized. Hand editing can cause corrupted files.
    — Never email the backup files without first adding them to a ZIP file or they will get corrupted during the email transport.
