I found an error in the JavaScript Console:
Uncaught TypeError: $(…).flexslider is not a function

But I don’t if that’s the problem and what it means. Could it be that some plugins have a conflict together?

    Hi, Christine!

Disabling other plugins is certainly a good place to start. If that doesn’t fix things for you, there are a few things you can check:

    – If you’re using a caching plugin, be sure to clear the cache after setting up your slider.

    – Check that your posts aren’t set to “Private”. Only published posts with a visibility of “Public” will appear in the slider for logged out users.

If you still have no luck with this, feel free to link to your site; I’d be happy to take a look for you.

    Hi Nick!

I got the problem. I deactivated all plugins and activated them. It is the W3 Total Cache that makes the problems. If I activated it now nothing works and if I deactivated it everything works. That’s strange.

Well done for pinpointing the issue, Christine!

If you still want to use W3 Total Cache, you could try running it with the ‘minify JavaScript’ option disabled at Performance → Minify: http://d.pr/i/1boK3

Minify can cause issues if one of your other plugins contains JavaScript errors, which could explain the console error you saw when switching on W3 Total Cache.
