  • Is there any way to get to the OLD developer documentation? I know it’s out of date, but the current documentation is so woefully incomplete (Function Reference in particular is practically non-existent, plus the “Template Functions” link it offers constantly is a., a link to Edit said functions and b., the page contains no text) that – especially in combination with the utterly broken search function – the codex is nigh-useless.

ANY links to ANY more complete documentation would be really very much appreciated.

(specifically, I want much more in-depth information about The Loop and ways in which to call have_posts/get_posts (or analogous function) without requiring a query string. For example, I want the home page to display the latest blog entry belonging to one category in one column, and the latest blog entry belonging to a second category in a second column. Can’t find information as to how to do this – it looks like get_posts should be able to do it but the link isn’t there on the function reference and the bloody search gives me “We couldn’t find anything!”)

OH LOOK I found it myself with Google. I’m leaving the rest of this here because it might help others, I haven’t seen anything official about the horribly broken search, and also to link to the description of get_posts.

    As usual, TYIA 🙂
