Support » Plugin: Html5 Video Player - mp4 player, Video Player for WordPress » Resizing of Video in Chrome Browser

  • Resolved ma3ry

    In all browsers except Chrome, the video appears correctly. However, in Chrome it starts out as about double the height it should be, and then quickly reverts to the correct size.

    From information I found on the internet I understand that this may have something to do with autoplay. CSS to correct the situation was suggested of

    /* HTML5 Video Header - stops it from resizing in Chrome */
    .video {
            position: fixed;
            top: 0;
            right: 0;
            bottom: 0;
            left: 0;
            overflow: hidden;  }
    .video > video {
            top: 0;
            left: 0;
            width: 100%;
            height: 100%;
            object-fit: cover;   }

    Initially, it seemed to work, but not any longer.

    Is there a way to prevent Chrome Browser from distorting the video on load?

    Thank you.

    Hello @ma3ry
    Thanks for your feedback. I have visited to see the issue you referring to, But I have not found any video player in your website. I have visited all the pages.
    Please create a test page and embed a video player there and share me the page url so that I can have a look into it.
    Have a great day !

    I don’t understand why you can’t see it. It’s the header on the home page, but I have done as you ask. I have created a test page at

    The id is [video id=314]
