resizing animated gifs – preserve animation

  • Hello,

I have an animated gif which I want to have as a thumbnail for my blog, using portfolium theme. The gif animation is a little bigger than a thumbnail size, so it has to be processed to be resized. The problem is that resized image won’t have animated frames any more – it appears that WP will take first frame, resize it and save as a gif.

How can I preserve the other animated frames?

    Thanks for help

resize manually in your graphics editor to the same size WordPress creates the thumbnail at and overwrite the automatically generated static one with the manually created animated ones ensuring that you use the same filename.
