• Hi,

I am using WordPress 3.5.1 and NextGenGallery 1.9.13.

    My problem:
When I upload new images the size will be corrected (1280×960) but the quality setting will be ignored. Therefore all images have the correct size but all with 100% JPEG quality.

I downloaded the files and check them with Photoshop and IrfanView. All of them show 100% and they all have a higher file size than expected. For example:

    Original: 4000 x 3000px / 180dpi / 100% quality = 2,47Mbyte
    NextGen: 1280 x 960 / 180dpi / 100% quality = 1,44Mbyte
    NextGen: 1280 x 960 / 180dpi / 50% quality = 1,44Mbyte
    IrfanView: 1280x 960 / 180dpi / 50% quality = 84Kbyte (!!!)

Does anybody know, why the quality setting is ignored bei NextGenGallery ?

    Thanks,
    SHC

  • Im having issues similar. My image upon upload is 75k and then once in the gallery its 360k. Dimensions of image remains the same 800×600
I have my quality set to 30. I started at 80 went to 45 and now at 30 and the image always ends up larger in kb after upload than the original on my hard drive

Same here: NextGen Gallery 1.9.13 on WordPress 3.5.1 Network with a perfect ‘plugin check’ result on the gallery management homepage within WordPress admin.

The resized (to 800 x 600 images appear to be jpegs at 100% quality rather than the specified 85%).

This is a new install of NextGen Gallery as of yesterday.

Im starting to get the feeling the developers have abandoned us and aren’t providing support any more???
