    Hi,
I am curious to ask that, if Shortpixel compress the main image and then resize it for different web view size?

    There are two scenarios:
    1. If Shortpixel compresses the all thumbnails with different ratios for one image, it should doubled my storage usage.
    2. If I disable different thumbnail ratio for WordPress, and Shortpixel compress main image and then make thumbnails, it wouldn’t double my storage!

    Hi Purnendu,

I’m sorry, but I don’t understand your question, especially what you mean by “ratio”. Could you please rephrase your request?

    Thank you,

    Ok, let me explain.

By default, WordPress creates two or more thumbnails i.e thumb-mediam, thumb-large for each emages. Now if I compress with Shortpixel, there will be 4 images, “thumb-medium”, “thumb-medium_compressed”, “thumb-large”, “thumb-compressed”.

Now I want to stop wordpress to create it’s own thumbnail. i.e. Only one original image. Now, if can resize it on Shortpixel, then there will be 3 images, “original”, “medium-compressed”, “large-compressed,”.

    Hope you understand now!

    Hi Purnedu,

    Thanks, I understand now 🙂

All you have to do is disable the backup option: https://help.shortpixel.com/article/43-will-backup-images-be-stored-on-our-own-server

    Have a good one!
